great for long distances. The Ribeye Sports are pure thoroughbreds. The
design of the 650 and 785 has evolved from the arduous environment of
RIB racing. This monocoque deep ‘ V’ hull has proved itself time and
again winning many races and championships.
But these Sports
RIBs are not just spartan racing boats. The present models have been
designed with recreation and conviviality in mind. The latest design
features a broader beam. This extra room gives a dimension of
spaciousness and increases passenger comfort and stowage capacity.
Compared
with hard boats and many other mass-produced RIBs, the Sports hull is
very forgiving, safe and predictable offering an exceptionally
comfortable and dry ride. Handling capabilities are superb which is why the Sports range has terrific agility and manoeuvrability with exciting full throttle performance.
The Sports is also the ideal RIB tourer for long distance trips, coast
and island hopping, and is totally suitable for family use. The
powerful deep ‘V’ hull is bonded to the moulded, slip-resistant deck
forming a true monocoque construction. The consoles and seats have been
ergonomically designed to provide for maximum storage without
encroaching on the spaciousness. For sun worshippers the bow will
convert into a good-sized sundeck with the addition of a bow cushion.
Both these boats have moulded spray deflectors that give dynamic lift
at high speed. The 785 has a unique planing wedge which creates better lateral stability, enhanced turning and precise tracking.
The Sports 800 delivers exhilarating race performance and with its stylishly spectacular looks, offers a truly thrilling ride. The hull features twin transverse steps which reduce drag at planing speeds so that the boat goes faster and more smoothly whilst increasing both ride control and fuel efficiency. The boat planes more quickly and smoothly, even under heavy payloads or in rough waters. The tapered tube design lowers the aerodynamic lift generated forward, resulting in a soft, stable ride. These high performance hulls demand high performance engines. The stunningly fast Yamaha HPDI or the high powered F225 fourstroke are the natural choice. So head for the open sea. Twin engine options are not standard, but are possible with the Sports 650 and 785.
